Google + novelties: Openning of business and use of pseudonyms

10/24/2011

So far, Google + has not accepted the alias on these pages and dedicated mainly to private persons. This should change very soon as Vic Gundotra informed, one of the bosses of Google + and Sergey Brin in the latest Web 2.0 Summit. The registrations with alias and pages for companies should soon appear on the social network.

Use of nick name on Google +

Since its launch, it was necessary to use the real identity on Google + at the risk of seeing its suspended account. The use of family name and nick names on Google + was banished. Those who wanted to remain anonymous had no choice but joined Google +, dixit Eric Schmidt, ex-CEO(ex-CEOs) of Google. This strategy should evolve in the coming months with the authorization of nick names on Google +. A reversal to play on the ground of Facebook?

Business pages on Google + and the link with Google Apps

Last July, marks and professionals had been asked to wait before launching on Google +. In fact, Google team wanted to set up a complete solution for companies with a whole series of additional services (link with Adwords, statistics). It seems that the expectation is soon ended and that the business pages will be launched in few weeks.

Furthermore, in the coming days, a footbridge will make the link between Google Apps and Google +  to allow all the users of Google Apps to fall over the social network.

Why does it take so long for things evolving in Google +? Vic Gundotra and Sergey Brin explain that they determine to proceed step by step to look after all the innovations with the willingness of giving Internet users the possibility of protecting information and checking their sharing. Hence, new horizons are open for Google +.
