Google maps of the buildings’ interior

Let imagine the scene: you are a little late to take your plane and impossible to find the door 16. You run in all directions in search of an indication which you certainly do not find. This panic and big solitude will soon become an old story because you just have to unsheathe your precious Android (too bad for those who haven’t got it!) and follow the building plan on Google Maps (plan du bâtiment sur Google Maps). In fact, Google has announced a new feature: the cartography by Google Maps of airports, department stores and some buildings in the United States and Japan. Europe should follow.

A new version of Google Maps

For owners of Android smart phones, Google has concocted you a small novelty: the Floor Plans function which maps the buildings’ interior, floor by floor. To the airport, shopping mall, department store, you can find the way to go there in a few clicks. Well, at the moment, this option concerns only buildings in the USA and Japan with partnerships with Ikea, Bloomingdale, Macy...
