1 - Fast history of Google’s debuts
Google company is recorded and undertaken in 1998 by Sergueï Brin and Larry Page. After many years, Google has been developed in bigger and bigger premises, for more and more people. From the first version, Android integrates the Google applications (Maps, Google +) as well as the useful applications on a telephone (directory, SMS, parameters, calculator, etc.). Android aims to be an open operating system: it is based on open source components (based on a Linux core, with software libraries WebKit, FreeType, etc. – under free and open licence). Developers also have the possibility of modifying as they are interested in this system by having access to the source code of Android ( code source d'Android).
Being contrary to our good old telephones deprived of dessert (like Eclair, Froyo, etc.) which were endowed with an owner’s closed impossible system to personalize, Android can be completely modified (thanks to numerous applications which can be downloaded).
Finally, Android did not forget the do-it-yourselfers who can have access to moved forward features (mode developer, root-age (having accesses the great user – don’t forget that Android is a system based on a Linux / UNIX core, thus we find this nice small world of Linux in our pocket), etc.).
These operating systems have made the success of smart phones with Android: some people criticize the Apple closure for their mobile devices (without macOS, it is difficult to make some development for iOS). Furthermore, the manufacturers can effectively personalize their telephones thanks to touches. Thanks to an enormous store of applications (several millions of apps only in Play Store), this system is present with more than 80 % of portable devices today and even in our television sets and our handles ( Android TV and Android Wear respectively).
Why to develop its applications for Android is a good plan: with more than a billion users, it is possible to contact many people (example of success: Flappy Bird: the application has been created for a few days but it was played by the nerves of million people). 3 - The creation of apps: (almost) a children's game
Creating apps for Android is an advantage because it does not need to buy a license (as for Apple until 2015). In fact, the kit of development (SDK) can be downloaded free of charge on the site of Android Developers. After the installation of SDK and its software, you can create the applications and test them.
Remark: the used programming language is Java. This language is usually used for numerous uses as certain Web applications, in most of multi-platform software and finance software. 4 - Android today?
Today, Android operating system is in the sixth version! Named after Marshmallow, it is displayed on several smart-phones. It has brought new exotic features as follows:
o Android Pay, means of payment without contact, which will work with Google Wallet application
o The reading of fingerprints is also a key feature
o Android for Work, which offers companies the reassurance of devices, applications and data as well as differentiation on mobiles of the personal and professional data.
Android is exported little by little on computers! Android-x86 project aims at exporting Google’s mobile operating system on our machines equipped with x86 and x64 processors. What is to offer, for the new users of computer devices, new directed apps and Web operating systems by Google?
