You want to obtain one more holiday week, but do not know how to convince your supervisor. For Google, there is a simple and effective solution: make a contribution to children! A real fairy tale and a great success in term of communication.
Google appreciates fairy tales and knows how to tell and display them with modesty and elegance. Once upon a time, there was a father, designer of Google, which had to celebrate his birthday on Wednesday but unfortunately worked on that day, leaving her sad and forsaken girl, Katie.
But Katie, like other tale girls, respects, and has got a godmother who is also a good fairy. Using a pen and all her courage, Katie wrote a letter to the boss of his dear daddy. Her request was very simple: his father could obtain a day off on Wednesday, because he only had this week on Saturday for a rest. And she forwarded it to two golden convincing arguments: it is the anniversary of his daddy (small part 1), and it is also the summer (small part 2).
Such a letter could not be a matter of indifference to any boss endowed with a heart and, luckily, the boss of Katie’s daddy also possessed it who works in such a dynamic environment. Daniel Shiplacoff responded the girl and made much more than the satisfaction of her first request: he offered the designer one vacation week so that the girl enjoyed the time with her daddy.
A true story, certainly, and a beautiful operation of storytelling for Google, which knew how to communicate casually on the working conditions offered to employees, and the management humanity which is presented, through this illustration, as ethical and human.
